Who is Amanda?

English: Detail of a desk after studying.

I am someone who loves to work with language. I love writing, editing and helping others succeed in their own language use. I enjoy speaking Spanish with my Latin American friends and Korean with my Korean friends. I can easily hold a long conversation about language. I enjoy debating grammar points, usage and the development and history of languages. I’ve even had grammar-related discussions on vacation.

That’s not to say that I only think about language. One of my majors is in music with an emphasis in oboe, and I can find my way on the piano and clarinet too. I love to ride my bike. I attend church regularly. I enjoy reading a wide variety of books, and I frequently browse a large number of articles on diverse cultures.
